DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: Can work 20-40 hours/week EST Time

Company Overview:
We are an innovative, fast-growing online education company specializing in Excel training programs. Our mission is to empower professionals with high-impact Excel skills that save time and increase productivity. As we expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced copywriter to join our team, driving the growth of our brand through exceptional, data-driven, and conversion-focused copy.

Position Overview:
The Senior Copywriter will play a critical role in our growth by developing high-converting copy for email marketing, sales pages, and various campaign promotions. This individual must excel at data-driven copywriting, possess a deep understanding of branding and positioning, and have proven experience delivering successful copy for online education or similar industries. Proficiency in Excel on Windows is highly preferred, as it is the core focus of our business.

We need a Copywriter, not a Content Writer. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in copywriting that focuses on sales. If you do not have this experience, please do not apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Email Marketing: Create 4–8 value-based emails monthly that build trust and deliver actionable insights to our audience. Additionally, write 7+ high-converting promotional campaign emails per month focused on product launches, new offers, or events.
  • Sales Funnel Copy: Regularly audit and update the copy within our Evergreen sales funnels, focusing on maximizing conversions while maintaining a value-first approach.
  • Sales Page Copywriting: Develop persuasive, high-converting sales pages with a clear focus on one big idea. You should be able to take a single sentence from the CEO regarding the overall positioning or big idea and expand it into a complete, detailed sales page on your own, handling all copy elements.
  • VSL Copy: You will be responsible for creating engaging, persuasive video sales letter (VSL) copy that aligns with the overall sales funnel strategy. Your VSL copy should captivate the audience by addressing their pain points and needs while clearly presenting the value of our product. 
  • Webinar Script: You will craft comprehensive webinar scripts that drive conversions while delivering educational value to the audience. These webinars will typically focus on teaching key Excel skills while subtly promoting our courses or software.
  • Social Media Copywriting: Create engaging and persuasive copy for Instagram stories, focusing on crafting compelling scripts and clear, action-driven calls to action (CTAs). Your copy will captivate the audience and drive measurable engagement across our social media channels.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Analyze customer behavior and sales data to create targeted, results-oriented copy. You’ll need to dig deep into our audience’s needs, preferences, and pain points to craft messaging that resonates and drives action.
  • Branding & Positioning: Collaborate with the CEO and branding team to ensure consistency in brand voice and positioning across all content. Brainstorm ideas for positioning and messaging during regular team calls.
  • Collaboration with Designers: Work closely with our design team to ensure sales pages are visually aligned with your copy, guiding the design for optimal conversion and brand cohesion.
  • Adherence to Deadlines: We work in a fast-paced environment and expect every project to be delivered on time. You’ll need to meet deadlines without compromising quality or creativity.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with the CEO, provide regular updates, and participate in calls for brainstorming and project alignment. Every task requires timely reporting and feedback loops.
  • Consistent Availability: You must be available every day, including weekends, to work on urgent projects. Flexibility and a strong work ethic are key.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English: You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to effectively communicate and create content for our audience.
  • Proven Track Record: Minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, with at least 2 years specializing in online education or digital products. You should be able to showcase high-converting sales pages, email funnels, and promotional content that drove significant results (e.g., increased CTRs, conversion rates, or sales revenue).
  • Proficiency in Excel: Experience using Excel on Windows is highly preferred, as understanding the product will be vital for creating accurate and relatable content.
  • ConvertKit Experience: Must have experience using ConvertKit for managing email marketing campaigns, automations, and audience segmentation.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret customer data, analytics, and behavior to inform and optimize copy.
  • Creative and Detail-Oriented: While creativity is essential, following instructions and adhering to brand guidelines are equally important. You must balance innovation with precision.
  • Self-Starter: You should be able to take a simple directive or big idea in one sentence from the CEO and independently create fully fleshed-out sales copy and promotional material without requiring step-by-step guidance.
  • High-Level Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proactive in providing updates and seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Deadline-Driven: Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration Skills: Comfort working in a collaborative environment, especially with designers, and understanding how copy and design should work together for optimal performance.
